Cat & Mouse
  110mm (4.25") high x 82mm (3.25") wide

'The worth of a kitten, from the night it is kittened until it shall open its eyes, is a legal penny.
And from the time that it shall kill mice, twopence.
And after it shall kill mice, four legal pence; and so it always remains.
Her needs are to see, to hear, to kill mice, to have her claws entire, to rear and not to devour her kittens; and if sge be bought and be deficient in any of these needs, let one third of her worth be returned.'
[10th. Century]

'Whene'er I felt my towering fancy fail,
I stroked her head, her ears, her tail,
And, stroked, improved my dying song
From sweet notes of her melodious tongue.
Her purrs and mews so evenly kept time,
She purred in metre and she purred in rhyme.'
[Joseph Green, 18th. Century]

'For I will consider my cat Jeffrey.
For if he meets another cat he will kiss her in kindness.
For when he takes his prey he plays with it to give it chance.
For one mouse in seven escapes by his dallying.
For he purrs in thankfulness, when God tells him he's a good cat.
For he is an instrument for the children to learn benevolence upon.
For there is nothing sweeter than his peace when at rest.
For there is nothing brisker than his life when in motion...'
[Christopher Smart, 18th. Century]

Modern moulding techniques faithfully reproduce the intricate and painstaking work of the sculptor whilst giving the appearance of real carved stone or sculpted terracotta. The resin sculptures are weatherproof, the plaques having a hole drilled in the back for easy hanging
