'Roll Up! Roll Up!
And Welcome!
My Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Children old and young, large and small.
Welcome once again -
Welcome!

The Tent is filled, the lamps are lit,
The greasepaint smiles are painted on.
The travelling troupe has come to rest,
The performers must go on.

With stunts to make you gasp and cheer
The troupe each night perform
So laugh out loud, gasp and cry
And make your welcome warm!'

It was possibly the offer of a free lunch that that led to this year's Annual Circus Reunion Meeting being so unusually well attended. Indeed, as it was later pointed out, there were many attendees that had never actually appeared under the original Big Top.

Many of the old performers had not seen each other for a long while and soon slipped into anecdote & reminiscence about the Good Old Days. Glasses were raised (and spilled), toasts were given and custard pies thrown.
Indeed some Old-Stagers were tempted to perform the tricks that had once so amazed the crowds all those years before and some took the opportunity to premiere some new tricks they had been working on and perfecting in the secrecy of their garden sheds and deserted railway sidings.

True - there was the odd mishap and scream: a couple of broken bones and some splintered furniture - but by the end of this spontaneous after-dinner entertainment, once the dust had settled and flames extinguished, a hush fell upon the assembly. For what they all had witnessed had been a true spectacle: in an instant they knew that the spirit which had once brought them together, and which had taken them around the globe, still burned brightly within each and everyone of them.

It was evident that the FUN lived on.

Thus it was, on this damp and cloudy afternoon, the Circus was reborn - and what lay ahead was the Road to Fame and Fortune.

And all that they had to do was take the first step.

Soon hoardings soon going up in towns throughout the nation: Renaissance Circus - truly a Circus REBORN!

So keep your eyes open (and your wallets close to your chests): The Renaissance Circus is coming to a town near you: SOON!
